On the 10th of January 2022 at 18:00 CET, Nordljud is hosting a Masterclass with journalists Maddy Savage and Ann Törnkvist.

The masterclass will last between 60 – 90 minutes and will be divided in two parts. One where Maddy and Ann talk about their experience, give insights about their background, but also some pitching tips and how to write a good idea/project to medias. The second, will be a Q&A, where you get the chance to ask your questions to professionals.

Maddy Savage:

Maddy Savage is a British Swedish reporter and presenter with 18 years on-air experience working for the BBC from London and Stockholm. Her main passion is producing features and documentaries about Nordic innovation, tech and lifestyle trends. She has also covered numerous major breaking news stories, including the Stockholm terror attack, the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall and Sweden's response to Covid-19. Alongside her assignments for the BBC, Maddy has freelanced for international media including HuffPost, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Monocle and NPR. Between 2014 and 2016 she was Editor of The Local Sweden, the largest English-language news site in the Nordics.

Ann Törnkvist:

Journalist and bestselling nonfiction author Ann Törnkvist specialises in reporting on organised crime. Her first book was the most popular library book at maximum-security prisons Hall and Kumla for over a year. Her second book looked into deadly witness intimidation and told an "unexpectedly complex story” that defied gangland stereotypes, according to a review in Aftonbladet. Now a freelancer after years working for several Sveriges Radio channels and at Svenska Dagbladet. Ann, who grew up in Stockholm, studied journalism at Columbia University in New York after having obtained a first-class degree with honours in political science at Glasgow University.
